Peter Roberts is a crisis communications specialist of 20 years standing and has worked with organisations across the globe, including Asia, Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
As a former Head of Communications for BBC News, Peter offers invaluable insights into the workings of the biggest media organisations at times of crisis. His time at the broadcaster also gave him first-hand involvement across a string of major reputational issues, such as the kidnapping and attacks on reporting staff, terrorist incidents and disputes with government.
Peter then made the switch to agency and has held board-level roles at some of the world’s biggest consultancies. The transition also started a 10-year relationship with the aviation industry, which developed close working relationships with a number of marquee brands, including Emirates, Gatwick Airport and Japan Airlines. Peter was also asked to lead the communications response for the Dana Airlines crash in Lagos, Nigeria in 2012, which saw the loss of all 152 people on board.
He also teaches communications at the prestigious University of New South Wales (UNSW).
