Based in Madrid, Carles Montaña is an international consultant and instructor with 30 years of experience in strategic, corporate, crisis, and political communications, as well as journalism. He covered critical events such as the attacks by the terrorist group ETA or the Islamist attack at the Atocha train station in Madrid on March 11, 2004. He holds a BA (Hons) in Journalism, as well as three master's degrees and a postgraduate qualification in journalism and digital marketing. He has managed and delivered training in crisis communications for airlines, petrochemical companies, governments, political parties, and trade unions across the Americas, Africa, Europe, and the Middle East, in countries such as Mexico, France, Argentina, Morocco, Kenya, Saudi Arabia, and Spain. As a crisis communications management consultant, he has worked on airline accidents involving fatalities, among other challenges. Additionally, he specializes in enhancing communication skills for senior executives and is fluent in five languages (English, French, Portuguese, Spanish, and Catalan). Carles currently teaches at prestigious institutions such as the School of Journalism at El País and the IMF.
